द्रव्यभूता गुणाः सर्वे तिष्ठन्ति हि पराक्रमे ॥
जयस्य हेतुः सिद्धिर् हि कर्म दैवं च संश्रितम् ॥
संयुक्तो हि बलैः कश् चित् प्रमादान् नोपयुज्यते ॥
तेन द्वारेण शत्रुभ्यः क्षीयते सबलो रिपुः ॥

dravyabhūtā guṇāḥ sarve tiṣṭhanti hi parākrame ||
jayasya hetuḥ siddhir hi karma daivaṃ ca saṃśritam ||
saṃyukto hi balaiḥ kaś cit pramādān nopayujyate ||
tena dvāreṇa śatrubhyaḥ kṣīyate sabalo ripuḥ ||

अनुवाद

"All virtues abide in valor as [precious] substance [abides in a vessel]; the cause of victory is accomplishment, resting on action and, together with it, on fate. [But] if someone endowed with strength fails through negligence to employ it, through that very breach even a strong enemy perishes at the hands of his foes."
