संतीर्य सरयूम् रम्याम्saṃtīrya sarayūm ramyāmhaving crossed the delightful Sarayu,

Here the heroes press on toward their goal, river after river. It is telling that the road to the deliverance of the oppressed is long and hard: no great deed is accomplished without a patient journey. The verse shows steadfastness in a righteous undertaking; next they will behold the tyrant's city.
