तैर् एव सहितः सर्वैर् अनुरज्य च तान् नृपान् ॥
कुलूतवासिनं राजन् बृहन्तम् उपजग्मिवान् ॥
मृदङ्गवरनादेन रथनेमिस्वनेन च ॥
हस्तिनां च निनादेन कम्पयन् वसुधाम् इमाम् ॥
ततो बृहन्तस् तरुणो बलेन चतुरङ्गिणा ॥
निष्क्रम्य नगरात् तस्माद् योधयाम् आस पाण्डवम् ॥

tato bṛhantas taruṇo balena caturaṅgiṇā ||
niṣkramya nagarāt tasmād yodhayām āsa pāṇḍavam ||

तैर् एव सहितः सर्वैर्tair eva sahitaḥ sarvairtogether with all of them,
अनुरज्य च तान् नृपान्anurajya ca tān nṛpānand having won over those kings,
कुलूत-वासिनं राजन्kulūta-vāsinaṃ rājantoward the inhabitant of Kuluta, O king,
बृहन्तम् उपजग्मिवान्bṛhantam upajagmivānhe advanced upon Brihanta;
मृदङ्ग-वर-नादेनmṛdaṅga-vara-nādenawith the roar of the finest mridangas,
रथ-नेमि-स्वनेन चratha-nemi-svanena caand the clatter of chariot wheels,
हस्तिनां च निनादेनhastināṃ ca ninādenaand the trumpeting of elephants
कम्पयन् वसुधाम् इमाम्kampayan vasudhām imāmshaking this earth;
ततो बृहन्तस् तरुणोtato bṛhantas taruṇothen young Brihanta,
बलेन चतुर्-अङ्गिणाbalena catur-aṅgiṇāwith his fourfold army,
निष्क्रम्य नगरात् तस्माद्niṣkramya nagarāt tasmādhaving come out of that city,

अनुवाद

Together with all of them, having won over those kings, he advanced upon Brihanta, the inhabitant of Kuluta, O king — shaking this earth with the roar of the finest mridangas, the clatter of chariot rims, and the trumpeting of elephants. Then young Brihanta, coming out of that city with his fourfold army, joined battle with the Pandava.
