अक्षौहिण्यो हि सप्तैव धर्मपुत्रस्य संगताः ॥

सात्यकिर् भीमसेनश् च यमौ च सुमहाबलौ ॥
एकादशैताः पृतना एकतश् च समागताः ॥
एकतश् च महाबाहुर् बहुरूपो धनंजयः ॥
यथा किरीटी सेनाभ्यः सर्वाभ्यो व्यतिरिच्यते ॥

The heroic sons of Pandu do not thirst for war with the Kauravas. They wish to recover their share without plunging the world into destruction. If the son of Dhritarashtra offers a reason in favor of war, it can never be a proper reason. The sons of Pandu are the more powerful. On behalf of Yudhishthira seven divisions of Akshauhini have been gathered, all eager to fight on the side of the Kurus, and now they await his command. There are also other tigers among men, equal in strength to a thousand Akshauhinis, such as Satyaki and Bhimasena, and the twin brothers of immense strength. It is true that these eleven divisions of troops are arrayed on one side, but on the other they are balanced by the mighty-armed Dhananjaya of manifold forms.
