अनुवाद

We have always seen you before. You are indeed a friend to us, as dear as Dhananjaya. Further, O Sanjaya, with all speed you must attend upon the brahmanas of pure energy who have devoted themselves to study after the manner of brahmacharya — those, namely, who have devoted themselves to the study of the Vedas while leading a mendicant life, those ascetics who commonly dwell in the forests, and also the elders of other classes. To all of them you must speak in my name, O Sanjaya, and then their welfare must be inquired after by you. O Suta, on approaching the priest of King Dhritarashtra, as well as his preceptors and ritviks, you must address them and learn of their welfare. Even among those who, though not of noble birth, are at least advanced in years, possessed of energy, of good conduct and strength, who remember and speak of us and practice virtue, however small, to the best of their power — such a one must first be informed of my peace, O Sanjaya, and then you must ask after his welfare. You should also learn of the welfare of those who live in the kingdom engaged in trade, and of those who live there holding important offices of state.
