अनुवाद

To each of them you must say whatever words you deem fitting, asking, O Suta, after their welfare. You must also learn of the welfare of those kings who were gathered by the son of Dhritarashtra to fight against the Pandavas, namely the Kekayas, the Vasatis, the Shalvakas, the Ambashthas, and the chief among the Trigartas, as well as those endowed with great valor who have come from the east, the north, the south and the west, and those who have come from the hill countries — indeed, all among them who are not cruel and who lead a virtuous life. You must also announce to all those men who ride on elephants, horses and chariots and who fight on foot — to that mighty host made up of noble men — that I am well, and then you must ask after their own welfare. You must also learn of the welfare of those who serve the king in matters of his revenue, or as his gatekeepers, or as commanders of his forces, or as accountants of his income and expenditure, or as officers constantly occupied in overseeing other important affairs. You must, O lord, also learn of the welfare of the son of Dhritarashtra by his vaishya wife — that youth who is one of the finest representatives of the Kuru line — who is never led into error, who possesses immense wisdom, who is endowed with every virtue, and who never harbors any inclination toward this war!
