शक्ष्यन्ति हि महाबाहो पाण्डवाः सृञ्जयैः सह ॥
धार्तराष्ट्रबलं घोरं क्रुद्धं प्रतिसमासितुम् ॥
न हि साम्ना न दानेन शक्यो ऽर्थस् तेषु कश् चन ॥
तस्मात् तेषु न कर्तव्या कृपा ते मधुसूदन ॥
साम्ना दानेन वा कृष्ण ये न शाम्यन्ति शत्रवः ॥
मोक्तव्यस् तेषु दण्डः स्याज् जीवितं परिरक्षता ॥
तस्मात् तेषु महादण्डः क्षेप्तव्यः क्षिप्रम् अच्युत ॥
त्वया चैव महाबाहो पाण्डवैः सह सृञ्जयैः ॥
एतत् समर्थं पार्थानां तव चैव यशस्करम् ॥
क्रियमाणं भवेत् कृष्ण क्षत्रस्य च सुखावहम् ॥

dhārtarāṣṭrabalaṃ ghoraṃ kruddhaṃ pratisamāsitum ||
na hi sāmnā na dānena śakyo 'rthas teṣu kaś cana ||
tasmāt teṣu na kartavyā kṛpā te madhusūdana ||
sāmnā dānena vā kṛṣṇa ye na śāmyanti śatravaḥ ||
moktavyas teṣu daṇḍaḥ syāj jīvitaṃ parirakṣatā ||
tasmāt teṣu mahādaṇḍaḥ kṣeptavyaḥ kṣipram acyuta ||
tvayā caiva mahābāho pāṇḍavaiḥ saha sṛñjayaiḥ ||
etat samarthaṃ pārthānāṃ tava caiva yaśaskaram ||
kriyamāṇaṃ bhavet kṛṣṇa kṣatrasya ca sukhāvaham ||

अनुवाद

Therefore people in this world, O foremost of men, cannot always hold to one and the same opinion. While we dwelt in the forest, our hearts were inclined toward a particular course of action. During the period of our concealment, our wishes were of one kind, but now, O Krishna, when concealment is no longer necessary, our wishes have become different.
