न पश्येम कुरून् सर्वान् पाण्डवांश् चैव संयुगे ॥
क्षीणान् उभयतः शूरान् रथेभ्यो रथिभिर् हतान् ॥
समवेताः पृथिव्यां हि राजानो राजसत्तम ॥
अमर्षवशम् आपन्ना नाशयेयुर् इमाः प्रजाः ॥
त्राहि राजन्न् इमं लोकं न नश्येयुर् इमाः प्रजाः ॥
त्वयि प्रकृतिम् आपन्ने शेषं स्यात् कुरुनन्दन ॥
शुक्ला वदान्या ह्रीमन्त आर्याः पुण्याभिजातयः ॥
अन्योन्यसचिवा राजंस् तान् पाहि महतो भयात् ॥
शिवेनेमे भूमिपालाः समागम्य परस्परम् ॥
सह भुक्त्वा च पीत्वा च प्रतियान्तु यथागृहम् ॥

na paśyema kurūn sarvān pāṇḍavāṃś caiva saṃyuge ||
kṣīṇān ubhayataḥ śūrān rathebhyo rathibhir hatān ||
samavetāḥ pṛthivyāṃ hi rājāno rājasattama ||
amarṣavaśam āpannā nāśayeyur imāḥ prajāḥ ||
trāhi rājann imaṃ lokaṃ na naśyeyur imāḥ prajāḥ ||
tvayi prakṛtim āpanne śeṣaṃ syāt kurunandana ||
śuklā vadānyā hrīmanta āryāḥ puṇyābhijātayaḥ ||
anyonyasacivā rājaṃs tān pāhi mahato bhayāt ||
śiveneme bhūmipālāḥ samāgamya parasparam ||
saha bhuktvā ca pītvā ca pratiyāntu yathāgṛham ||

अनुवाद

Therefore I shall strive sincerely to bring about the good of the sons of Dhritarashtra and of the Pandavas, as well as of all the kshatriyas on earth. If, in trying to do good to my friends, Duryodhana should unjustly blame me, I shall still find satisfaction in my own conscience — for a true friend is one who takes upon himself the role of mediator when strife breaks out among kinsmen.
