आर्यको नन्दकश् चैव तथा कलशपोतकौ ॥
कैलासकः पिञ्जरको नागश् चैरावतस् तथा ॥
सुमनोमुखो दधिमुखः शङ्खो नन्दोपनन्दकौ ॥
आप्तः कोटनकश् चैव शिखी निष्ठूरिकस् तथा ॥
तित्तिरिर् हस्तिभद्रश् च कुमुदो माल्यपिण्डकः ॥
द्वौ पद्मौ पुण्डरीकश् च पुष्पो मुद्गरपर्णकः ॥
करवीरः पीठरकः संवृत्तो वृत्त एव च ॥
पिण्डारो बिल्वपत्रश् च मूषिकादः शिरीषकः ॥
दिलीपः शङ्खशीर्षश् च ज्योतिष्को ऽथापराजितः ॥
कौरव्यो धृतराष्ट्रश् च कुमारः कुशकस् तथा ॥
āryako nandakaś caiva tathā kalaśapotakau ||
kailāsakaḥ piñjarako nāgaś cairāvatas tathā ||
sumanomukho dadhimukhaḥ śaṅkho nandopanandakau ||
āptaḥ koṭanakaś caiva śikhī niṣṭhūrikas tathā ||
tittirir hastibhadraś ca kumudo mālyapiṇḍakaḥ ||
dvau padmau puṇḍarīkaś ca puṣpo mudgaraparṇakaḥ ||
karavīraḥ pīṭharakaḥ saṃvṛtto vṛtta eva ca ||
piṇḍāro bilvapatraś ca mūṣikādaḥ śirīṣakaḥ ||
dilīpaḥ śaṅkhaśīrṣaś ca jyotiṣko 'thāparājitaḥ ||
kauravyo dhṛtarāṣṭraś ca kumāraḥ kuśakas tathā ||
By their conduct one might say they belong to the order of kshatriyas, yet all of them are devoid of any compassion and, like serpents, feed on their own kin. They never attain spiritual illumination, for they prey upon their own relatives. Now I shall name their chieftains one by one — listen to me, O Mātali. This race is held in great honor because of the favor bestowed upon it by Viṣṇu.
