अनुवाद

'Devapi was the eldest, then Bahlika, and third was Shantanu, my resolute grandfather, my son. But Devapi, O best of kings, though mighty, righteous, truthful, and devoted to serving his father, suffered from a disease of the skin. The townsfolk and the people of the countryside acknowledged him, and good men honored him; Devapi was dear to the hearts of all, young and old alike. He was wise, faithful to truth, devoted to the welfare of all beings, and followed the teaching of his father as well as of the brahmanas. He was the beloved brother of Bahlika and of the great-souled Shantanu, and among these great-souled brothers, living together, there was the highest brotherly harmony.'
