अनुवाद

Bhishma said: 'Then, O king, the mother of Shikhandin told her husband the whole truth about the girl Shikhandini. "O king, being without a son and fearing my co-wives, I declared that the girl born to us, Shikhandini, was a boy. And you, O best of men, out of affection, approved this. The rites due to a son were performed for the girl, O bull among kings. You took for her, as wife, the daughter of the lord of Dashārna, O king. And before this you had also said, understanding the meaning of the divine utterance: 'Having been born a girl, she will become a man' — and so the matter was let pass unheeded." Hearing this, Drupada, called Yajnasena, told the whole truth to his counselors and began, O king, to take counsel on what should be done to protect his subjects.'
