देवनागरी
नान्यं गुणेभ्यः कर्तारं यदा द्रष्टानुपश्यति ॥
गुणेभ्यश् च परं वेत्ति मद्भावं सो ऽधिगच्छति ॥
गुणान् एतान् अतीत्य त्रीन् देही देहसमुद्भवान् ॥
जन्ममृत्युजरादुःखैर् विमुक्तो ऽमृतम् अश्नुते ॥

janmamṛtyujarāduḥkhair vimukto 'mṛtam aśnute ||

यदा द्रष्टानुपश्यतिyadā draṣṭānupaśyatiwhen the seer perceives; when the observer beholds
गुणेभ्यश् च परं वेत्तिguṇebhyaś ca paraṃ vettiand knows what is beyond the gunas; and comes to know what transcends the gunas
मद्भावं सो ऽधिगच्छतिmadbhāvaṃ so 'dhigacchatihe attains My nature; he arrives at My state
गुणान् एतान् अतीत्य त्रीन्guṇān etān atītya trīnhaving passed beyond these three gunas; having transcended these three qualities
देही देहसमुद्भवान्dehī dehasamudbhavānthe embodied one, born together with the body; the soul, arising along with the body
जन्ममृत्युजरादुःखैर्janmamṛtyujarāduḥkhairfrom birth, death, old age, and sufferings; from birth, death, old age, and pain
विमुक्तो ऽमृतम् अश्नुतेvimukto 'mṛtam aśnutefreed, he partakes of immortality; having become free, he attains amrita
अनुवाद
"When the seer perceives no doer other than the gunas, and knows what is beyond the gunas, he attains My nature. Having passed beyond these three gunas that arise together with the body, the embodied soul is freed from birth, death, old age, and suffering, and partakes of immortality."

Liberation begins with a sober seeing: the gunas act within prakriti, but the soul is not reducible to their movement. Rising above the gunas means drawing near to the state of Krishna, where death and old age lose their hold.
