अनुवाद

Then, enraged, Drona, having advanced to the front of the army, again cut through the bow of Drupada's son. And the boundless-spirited Drona, deprived of his bow, covered him with well-fashioned arrows, as a cloud covers a mountain with rain. With a bhalla-arrow he once more cast his charioteer down from the chariot seat, felled his four horses in battle with four sharpened arrows, and gave a lion's roar. Then with another bhalla-arrow he severed the bow from Dhrishtadyumna's hand. Deprived of bow, chariot, horses, and charioteer, he climbed down with mace in hand, proclaiming his great valor. Drona swiftly struck down that mace with arrows before he had even descended from the chariot, and this seemed a wonder, O Bharata. Then the mighty, fair-armed warrior seized a great shining shield with a hundred moons and a great celestial sword, and rushed forward with speed, desiring to kill Drona, as a lion hungry for flesh rushes upon a maddened elephant in the forest. There we beheld the wondrous valor of the son of Bharadvaja, his agility, his mastery of weapons, and the strength of his arms, O Bharata: he checked Parshata with a shower of arrows, and mighty though he was, he could not advance further in the fight. We saw the great chariot-warrior Dhrishtadyumna standing there, warding off floods of arrows with his shield like a skilled master."
