द्वितीयां पुरुषव्याघ्रः कक्ष्यां निष्क्रम्य पार्थिवः ॥
तत्र वेदविदो विप्रान् अपश्यद् ब्राह्मणर्षभान् ॥
दान्तान् वेदव्रतस्नातान् स्नातान् अवभृथेषु च ॥
सहस्रानुचरान् सौरान् अष्टौ दशशतानि च ॥

tatra vedavido viprān apaśyad brāhmaṇarṣabhān ||
dāntān vedavratasnātān snātān avabhṛtheṣu ca ||
sahasrānucarān saurān aṣṭau daśaśatāni ca ||

द्वितीयाम् पुरुषव्याघ्रःdvitīyām puruṣavyāghraḥ[to] the second [enclosure] — the tiger among men; to the second enclosure — the man-tiger
कक्ष्याम् निष्क्रम्य पार्थिवःkakṣyām niṣkramya pārthivaḥhaving gone out of the enclosure, the king; out of the enclosure, the king
तत्र वेदविदः विप्रान्tatra vedavidaḥ viprānthere — brahmins knowing the Vedas; there — brahmins versed in the Vedas
अपश्यत् ब्राह्मणर्षभान्apaśyat brāhmaṇarṣabhānhe saw, bulls among brahmins; beheld, bulls among brahmins
दान्तान् वेदव्रतस्नातान्dāntān vedavratasnātānrestrained, bathed in the vows of the Vedas; restrained, having passed through the vows of the Vedas
स्नातान् अवभृथेषु चsnātān avabhṛtheṣu caand bathed in [concluding] ablutions; and in concluding ablutions
सहस्रानुचरान् सौरान्sahasrānucarān saurānwith thousands of followers, sun-worshippers; with a thousand followers, sun-worshippers

अनुवाद

Going out to the second enclosure, the tiger among men, the king, saw there brahmins knowing the Vedas, bulls among brahmins: restrained, bathed in the vows of the Vedas and in the concluding ablutions, with thousands of sun-worshipping followers — eighteen hundred.
