अमर्षपूर्णस् त्व् अतिचित्रयोधी; शरासनी काञ्चनवर्मधारी ॥
सुदर्शनः सात्यकिम् आपतन्तं; न्यवारयद् राजवरः प्रसह्य ॥
तयोर् अभूद् भरत संप्रहारः; सुदारुणस् तं समभिप्रशंसन् ॥
योधास् त्वदीयाश् च हि सोमकाश् च; वृत्रेन्द्रयोर् युद्धम् इवामरौघाः ॥

amarṣapūrṇas tv aticitrayodhī; śarāsanī kāñcanavarmadhārī ||
sudarśanaḥ sātyakim āpatantaṃ; nyavārayad rājavaraḥ prasahya ||
tayor abhūd bharata saṃprahāraḥ; sudāruṇas taṃ samabhipraśaṃsan ||
yodhās tvadīyāś ca hi somakāś ca; vṛtrendrayor yuddham ivāmaraughāḥ ||

शरासनी काञ्चनवर्मधारीśarāsanī kāñcanavarmadhārīthe archer, [clad] in golden armor; the bowman, wearing golden armor
सुदर्शनः सात्यकिम् आपतन्तम्sudarśanaḥ sātyakim āpatantamSudarshana [checked] Satyaki as he charged; Sudarshana [checked] the charging Satyaki
न्यवारयत् राजवरः प्रसह्यnyavārayat rājavaraḥ prasahyarestrained [him] by force, the excellent king; held [him] back forcibly, the surpassing king
तयोः अभूत् भरत संप्रहारःtayoḥ abhūt bharata saṃprahāraḥbetween those two arose, O Bharata, a clash; between those two there came about, O scion of Bharata, a combat
सुदारुणः तम् समभिप्रशंसन्sudāruṇaḥ tam samabhipraśaṃsanmost terrible, praising it; most fearsome, extolling it
योधाः त्वदीयाः च हिyodhāḥ tvadīyāḥ ca hithe warriors of yours indeed; and your warriors indeed
सोमकाः चsomakāḥ caand the Somakas; and the Somakas as well
वृत्रेन्द्रयोः युद्धम् इव अमरौघाःvṛtrendrayoḥ yuddham iva amaraughāḥas the battle of Vritra and Indra, [as if] the hosts of the immortals; as if it were the battle of Vritra and Indra, [as] the hosts of the gods
अनुवाद

But full of wrath, the archer of dazzling and varied skill, clad in golden armor, Sudarshana, the excellent king, forcibly restrained the charging Satyaki. Between those two, O Bharata, arose a most terrible clash, which your warriors and the Somakas together extolled -- as if the hosts of the immortals were watching the battle of Vritra and Indra.
