ताव् एकरथम् आरूढौ भ्रातरौ परतापनौ ॥
संग्रामशिरसो मध्ये भीमं द्वाव् अभ्यधावताम् ॥
यथाम्बुपतिमित्रौ हि तारकं दैत्यसत्तमम् ॥
ततस् तु दुर्मदश् चैव दुष्कर्णश् च तवात्मजौ ॥
रथम् एकं समारुह्य भीमं बाणैर् अविध्यताम् ॥
ततः कर्णस्य मिषतो द्रौणेर् दुर्योधनस्य च ॥
कृपस्य सोमदत्तस्य बाह्लीकस्य च पाण्डवः ॥
दुर्मदस्य च वीरस्य दुष्कर्णस्य च तं रथम् ॥
पादप्रहारेण धरां प्रावेशयद् अरिंदमः ॥

yathāmbupatimitrau hi tārakaṃ daityasattamam ||
tatas tu durmadaś caiva duṣkarṇaś ca tavātmajau ||
ratham ekaṃ samāruhya bhīmaṃ bāṇair avidhyatām ||
tataḥ karṇasya miṣato drauṇer duryodhanasya ca ||
kṛpasya somadattasya bāhlīkasya ca pāṇḍavaḥ ||
durmadasya ca vīrasya duṣkarṇasya ca taṃ ratham ||
pādaprahāreṇa dharāṃ prāveśayad ariṃdamaḥ ||
Those two, having mounted one chariot, the brothers, scorchers of foes, rushed at Bhima in the very forefront of battle. Then Durmada and Dushkarna, your sons, having mounted one chariot, pierced Bhima with arrows. Then, before the gaze of Karna, Drauni, Duryodhana, Kripa, Somadatta, and Bahlika, the Pandava, tamer of foes, drove that chariot of the hero Durmada and Dushkarna into the earth with a kick.

Bhima drives the enemy's chariot into the earth with his foot — before the eyes of all the greatest Kauravas: a might that shames the onlookers. It is telling that the witnesses are powerless: fearsome men who can only watch. The verse teaches that there is a strength before which even many strong men are mere spectators; and a deed done before the powerless eyes of one's foes strikes them twice — by the bodily death of some, and by the crushing of the spirit of the rest.
