अनुवाद

"What will Bhima and Partha do to us? Slay this burning rakshasa at midnight! Whoever would free us from this dread battle, that one would let us fight the Parthas. Therefore slay this dread rakshasa with the spear given by Vasava [Indra]; may not all the Kauravas, Indra-like, perish with their warriors, o Karna, at night's end." He, hard-pressed by the rakshasa at midnight, seeing, o king, the perishing army and hearing the great outcry of the Kauravas, Karna resolved to hurl the spear. He, wrathful, like a lion, impatient, could not bear that check in the fight; the finest spear, Vaijayanti, unbearable, he took up, intending his destruction.
