यत् तु धर्मप्रवृत्तस्य हृतं राज्यम् अधर्मतः ॥
द्रौपदी च परामृष्टा सभाम् आनीय शत्रुभिः ॥
वनं प्रव्राजिताश् चास्म वल्कलाजिनवाससः ॥
अनर्हमाणास् तं भावं त्रयोदश समाः परैः ॥
एतान्य् अमर्षस्थानानि मर्षितानि त्वयानघ ॥
क्षत्रधर्मप्रसक्तेन सर्वम् एतद् अनुष्ठितम् ॥

yat tu dharmapravṛttasya hṛtaṃ rājyam adharmataḥ ||
draupadī ca parāmṛṣṭā sabhām ānīya śatrubhiḥ ||
vanaṃ pravrājitāś cāsma valkalājinavāsasaḥ ||
anarhamāṇās taṃ bhāvaṃ trayodaśa samāḥ paraiḥ ||
etāny amarṣasthānāni marṣitāni tvayānagha ||
kṣatradharmaprasaktena sarvam etad anuṣṭhitam ||

शब्दशः अर्थ
संस्कृतIASTअर्थ
यत् तु धर्मप्रवृत्तस्यyat tu dharmapravṛttasyabut what was of you, who walked in dharma; but what happened to you, who held to dharma
हृतम् राज्यम् अधर्मतःhṛtam rājyam adharmataḥthe kingdom seized unlawfully; the kingdom taken away unjustly
द्रौपदी च परामृष्टाdraupadī ca parāmṛṣṭāand Draupadi insulted; and Draupadi outraged
सभाम् आनीय शत्रुभिःsabhām ānīya śatrubhiḥbrought into the assembly by our foes; led into the hall by our enemies
वनम् प्रव्राजिताः च अस्मvanam pravrājitāḥ ca asmaand we were driven into the forest; and we were exiled to the forest
वल्कलाजिनवाससःvalkalājinavāsasaḥclothed in bark and hide; in garments of bark and skins
अनर्हमाणाः तम् भावम्anarhamāṇāḥ tam bhāvamnot deserving that condition; undeserving of that fate
त्रयोदश समाः परैःtrayodaśa samāḥ paraiḥfor thirteen years, by our foes; for thirteen years, by our enemies
एतानि अमर्षस्थानानिetāni amarṣasthānānithese grounds for indignation; these causes for resentment
मर्षितानि त्वया अनघmarṣitāni tvayā anaghawere endured by you, O sinless one; were borne by you, O sinless one
क्षत्रधर्मप्रसक्तेनkṣatradharmaprasaktenadevoted to the kshatriya dharma; faithful to the kshatriya dharma
सर्वम् एतत् अनुष्ठितम्sarvam etat anuṣṭhitamall this was accomplished; all this was carried out
अनुवाद

"But when the kingdom was unlawfully seized from you, who walked in dharma, and Draupadi was insulted, brought into the assembly by our foes; and we were driven into the forest, clothed in bark and hide, undeserving of that state, for thirteen years, by our enemies -- these grounds for indignation were endured by you, O sinless one; all this was borne by one devoted to the kshatriya dharma."
