译文
‘Garuda, then, was born in his appointed time — the destroyer of serpents. The moment he was born, he left [his mother] Vinata and soared into the sky, [flying off] to obtain the food appointed for him [by the Creator] — ordained by the Ordainer for one hungry and craving food, O tiger [among the descendants] of Bhrigu.’

Garuda’s birth in his rightful hour stands in direct contrast to Aruna’s premature appearance. Having waited for the appointed time, Vinata gains a perfect son — the mighty king of birds, who will become the very mount (vahana) of Lord Vishnu. This confirms the lesson: patience and trust in the Lord’s timing bring forth perfection where haste brought only damage. Garuda’s strength and majesty are so great from birth that he soars into the sky at once. It is telling that even his food is ‘appointed by the Creator’: everything in the world stands under the Lord’s providence, and each being is allotted its own sustenance. Garuda is the image of the perfect devotee-servant: mighty, swift, wholly devoted to the Lord, bearing Him upon himself. Thus, from the story of two sisters, through the lesson of patience, is born the one who eternally serves Vishnu — and the narrative now moves toward his great deeds.
