译文

'Then near the salt ocean there began a battle — greatest and most terrible — between the gods and the asuras. Huge, sharp javelins fell by the thousands, along with lances with keen points, and weapons of every kind. The asuras, cut by the discus, vomiting abundant blood, fell to the ground, struck down by swords, spears, and maces. In that cruel battle, heads adorned with pure gold, severed by axes, fell without cease. The great asuras, drenched in blood, slain, lay everywhere like mountain peaks stained with red ore. And when the sun turned crimson toward dusk, here and there by the thousands arose the cry of warriors cutting one another down with weapons. The din of warriors striking one another in close combat with iron maces and fists seemed to touch the very heavens. 'Cut! Pierce! Charge! Strike down!' — such were the dreadful cries that rang out there on every side.'
