译文
Studying the Brahmic Veda and the Vedangas in full, and the science of statecraft, the knowers of dharma saw their grandfather. Having greeted great-souled Krishna-Dvaipayana then, all of them stood with joined palms together with their mother.

Here it is revealed that even in exile the Pandavas do not abandon their studies. It is telling that amid wanderings and dangers they 'study the Veda, the Vedangas, and the science of statecraft': misfortune did not turn them from knowledge, but they keep faith with dharma and prepare themselves for future rule. Here it is seen that the truly noble do not lose their spiritual striving even in want: outward deprivation does not deprive them of inner wealth. Telling too is their reverence for their grandfather: on meeting Vyasa they humbly join their palms. Thus the text reveals that devotion to learning and reverence for the wise are constant companions of the righteous — in glory and in persecution alike.
