Here Bhima reports to his elder — not to the crowd. It is significant that he tells of what was done only to Yudhishthira, the king: the feat is known only to whom it should be known, not broadcast for glory. Here is the dharma of obedience: one who has carried out a charge returns to the one who gave it and reports "without omission," neither concealing nor adding anything. Thus the scripture shows that service is completed by a report to one's elder, not by boasting before strangers; and Bhima's modesty, having told only his brother, matches the greatness of his deed.
