Here is revealed a father's concern for his daughter's worthy marriage. It is telling that even Surya, lord of light, loses his peace in seeking an equal husband for his daughter: care for the welfare of one's children troubles even a celestial being. Here is shown the truth that giving a daughter in marriage is a matter of great responsibility: she must be entrusted to one worthy in lineage, in character, and in learning alike. Thus the scripture shows the anxiety of a loving father and the sanctity of the proper ordering of marriage; and Surya's care prepares Tapati's meeting with the husband destined for her.
