तयोर् भयाद् दुद्रुवुस् ते वैनतेयाद् इवोरगाः ॥
मथितैर् आश्रमैर् भग्नैर् विकीर्णकलशस्रुवैः ॥
शून्यम् आसीज् जगत् सर्वं कालेनेव हतं यथा ॥

译文

Here the world grows empty, deprived of its ascetics and hermitages. The comparison to devastation "by Time itself" is telling: when the saints are driven out, the earth becomes as after a universal destruction. Here it is shown that the presence of the righteous is the life of the world, and their banishment its desolation. Thus the scripture shows the desolation of the earth; and the flight of the ascetics signals the end of the sacred order.
