तथा देवर्षयः सर्वे पार्थ शक्रम् उपासते ॥
अमला धूतपाप्मानो दीप्यमाना इवाग्नयः ॥
तेजस्विनः सोमयुजो विपापा विगतक्लमाः ॥

"So too all the divine seers, O Partha, honor Shakra — spotless, having shaken off sin, blazing like fires, radiant, partaking of soma, sinless and free of weariness."

Here the seers are described as 'having shaken off sin' and 'blazing like fires.' It is significant that their radiance comes not from ornament but from purity: austerity and sinlessness themselves clothe a person in light. Thus the scripture shows inner purity as the source of true splendor; and next comes the named host of sages.
