译文

Vaishampayana said: "Having heard Draupadi, Bhimasena, unable to bear insult, breathing heavily, approached the king and said: 'Set out on the righteous path of kingship, worthy of noble men. Why should we live in the forest if we are deprived of dharma, profit, and joy? Our kingdom was taken from us not by dharma, not by honesty, and not by strength, but by the deceit of dice. As a jackal carries off meat from lions, so the weak one took our kingdom. For the sake of your rule we have accepted calamity: we exhaust our friends, we gladden our enemies, and the fact that we did not kill the sons of Dhritarashtra at once torments us like a sin.'"
