संप्राप्नुवन्त्व् अद्य सहैव तेन; रिपुं जयामो नहुषं घोरदृष्टिम् ॥
ततः शक्रं ज्वलनो ऽप्य् आह भागं; प्रयच्छ मह्यं तव साह्यं करिष्ये ॥
तम् आह शक्रो भविताग्ने तवापि; ऐन्द्राग्नो वै भाग एको महाक्रतौ ॥
एवं संचिन्त्य भगवान् महेन्द्रः पाकशासनः ॥
कुबेरं सर्वयक्षाणां धनानां च प्रभुं तथा ॥
वैवस्वतं पितॄणां च वरुणं चाप्य् अपां तथा ॥
आधिपत्यं ददौ शक्रः सत्कृत्य वरदस् तदा ॥

kuberaṃ sarvayakṣāṇāṃ dhanānāṃ ca prabhuṃ tathā ||
vaivasvataṃ pitṝṇāṃ ca varuṇaṃ cāpy apāṃ tathā ||
ādhipatyaṃ dadau śakraḥ satkṛtya varadas tadā ||
Indra said to him: 'O Agni, you too shall receive a share in the great sacrifices — there shall be one share for both Indra and Agni.' Shalya continued: 'Thus the illustrious lord Indra, punisher of Paka, bestower of boons, granted, after reflection, to Kubera dominion over the yakshas and over all the wealth of the world; to Yama, dominion over the Pitris; and to Varuna, dominion over the waters.'
