译文

For the sake of such a son, King Dhritarashtra has knowingly turned away from virtue and joy. Even then, O Sanjaya, when I was gambling with dice, I thought the destruction of the Kurus was near, for though Vidura spoke those wise and excellent words, he received no praise from Dhritarashtra. Then, O charioteer, calamity befell the Kurus when they disregarded Vidura's words. As long as they followed his wisdom, their kingdom remained in a flourishing state. Hear from me, O charioteer, who are now the counselors of the covetous Duryodhana: Duhshasana, Shakuni the son of Subala, and Karna the suta's son! O son of Gavalgana, behold his folly! Therefore I cannot understand, though I ponder it, how the Kurus and Srinjayas could ever prosper, when Dhritarashtra has seized the throne from others and the far-sighted Vidura has been driven away. Dhritarashtra, together with his sons, now seeks vast and unrivaled dominion over the whole world. For this reason, an unbroken peace cannot be attained.
