तव पुत्रः सहामात्यः क्षणेन न भविष्यति ॥

नोत्सहे ऽनर्थसंयुक्तां वाचं श्रोतुं कथं चन ॥
वैशंपायन उवाच
इत्य् उक्त्वा भरतश्रेष्ठो वृद्धः परममन्युमान् ॥
उत्थाय तस्मात् प्रातिष्ठद् भीष्मः सत्यपराक्रमः ॥
kṛṣṇam akliṣṭakarmāṇam āsādyāyaṃ sudurmatiḥ ||
tava putraḥ sahāmātyaḥ kṣaṇena na bhaviṣyati ||
pāpasyāsya nṛśaṃsasya tyaktadharmasya durmateḥ ||
notsahe 'narthasaṃyuktāṃ vācaṃ śrotuṃ kathaṃ cana ||
vaiśaṃpāyana uvāca
ity uktvā bharataśreṣṭho vṛddhaḥ paramamanyumān ||
utthāya tasmāt prātiṣṭhad bhīṣmaḥ satyaparākramaḥ ||
Let the dwelling of Duhshasana, which is finer than that of Duryodhana, be at once cleansed and well adorned. This mansion, made up of many beautiful buildings, is pleasant and delightful and abounds in the riches of every season. It is in this very dwelling that all my wealth, as well as that of Duryodhana, is kept. Let him be given all that this scion of the Vrishni race deserves.
