译文

Who is his father, and who is his mother? Of what race of nagas is he? Indeed, of what line does he stand as a tall banner-pole? Because of his intelligence, patience, beauty, and youth, my heart, O celestial Rishi, has been drawn to him. This young man will make the best husband for my Gunakeshi.' Kanva continued: 'Seeing Matali's satisfaction and beholding the naga named Sumukha, Narada told him of the nobility of his lineage and of his deeds.'
