तदायुष्मन् खगपते यथेष्टं गम्यताम् इतः ॥
न च ते गर्हणीयापि गर्हितव्याः स्त्रियः क्व चित् ॥
भवितासि यथापूर्वं बलवीर्यसमन्वितः ॥
बभूवतुस् ततस् तस्य पक्षौ द्रविणवत्तरौ ॥
अनुज्ञातश् च शाण्डिल्या यथागतम् उपागमत् ॥
नैव चासादयाम् आस तथारूपांस् तुरंगमान् ॥
विश्वामित्रो ऽथ तं दृष्ट्वा गालवं चाध्वनि स्थितम् ॥
उवाच वदतां श्रेष्ठो वैनतेयस्य संनिधौ ॥
यस् त्वया स्वयम् एवार्थः प्रतिज्ञातो मम द्विज ॥
तस्य कालो ऽपवर्गस्य यथा वा मन्यते भवान् ॥

uvāca vadatāṃ śreṣṭho vainateyasya saṃnidhau ||
yas tvayā svayam evārthaḥ pratijñāto mama dvija ||
tasya kālo 'pavargasya yathā vā manyate bhavān ||

译文

"Therefore, O long-lived lord of birds, depart from here as you wish. And you should never censure women, even when they seem deserving of reproach. You will become again as before, endowed with strength and valor." After this, his two wings appeared once more, still more splendid than before. Having received Shandili's leave, he returned by the same way he had come, but he never did obtain such horses. Then Vishvamitra, the foremost among speakers, having seen Galava standing on the road, said to him in the presence of the son of Vinata: "O brahmin, the matter which you yourself promised me has now come to the time of its fulfillment; act as you think fit."
