ततस् ते पार्थिवाः सर्वे शिरसा जननीं तदा ॥
अभिवाद्य नमस्कृत्य मातामहम् अथाब्रुवन् ॥
उच्चैर् अनुपमैः स्निग्धैः स्वरैर् आपूर्य मेदिनीम् ॥
मातामहं नृपतयस् तारयन्तो दिवश् च्युतम् ॥
अथ तस्माद् उपगतो गालवो ऽप्य् आह पार्थिवम् ॥
तपसो मे ऽष्टभागेन स्वर्गम् आरोहतां भवान् ॥

atha tasmād upagato gālavo 'py āha pārthivam ||
tapaso me 'ṣṭabhāgena svargam ārohatāṃ bhavān ||

译文

"Then all those kings, bowing their heads, paid homage to their mother and then spoke to their maternal grandfather. With loud, incomparable, gentle voices filling the earth, these lords of men worked to save their maternal grandfather, fallen from heaven. Then Galava too approached and said to the king: 'May your honor ascend to heaven with an eighth part of my austerity.'"
