译文

Rakshasas dwell on Himavan, guhyakas on Hemakuta, serpents and nagas on Nishadha, and ascetics rich in austerity on Gokarna. Shveta is called the dwelling of gods and asuras; gandharvas live on Mount Nishadha, brahmarshis on Nila, O king, and Shringavan, O great king, is the place of passage of the ancestors. Such are these seven varshas, divided by their parts; in them have settled beings both moving and unmoving. Their prosperity, divine and human, is manifold and cannot be fully enumerated, yet one who seeks the good should accept it with trust. You ask me, O king, about this divine form of the hare: on the two sides of the hare lie the two varshas, southern and northern; its two ears are Nagadvipa and Kashyapadvipa. The head, O king, of copper hue, is the glorious mountain Malaya. Thus is seen the second part of the island, shaped in the form of a hare.
