"He who sees that all actions in every respect are performed by prakriti alone, and that the Atman is the non-doer, truly sees. When one perceives that the separate existence of beings abides in the One, and that from that very One their expansion proceeds, then he attains Brahman. Because of its beginninglessness and freedom from the gunas, this imperishable Paramatma, even dwelling in the body, O son of Kunti, does not act and is not tainted. As all-pervading space, because of its subtlety, is not tainted, so the Atman, dwelling in every body, is not tainted. As the one sun illumines this entire world, so the knower of the field illumines the whole field, O Bharata. Those who with the eye of knowledge see this distinction between the field and the knower of the field, and the liberation from the nature of beings, attain the Supreme."

The conclusion returns to the essential distinction: prakriti acts, the Atman bears witness, and the Paramatma remains undying and untainted. To see this is to step out of false identification with the field and to go toward the Supreme.
