पुरा किल सुराः सर्वे ऋषयश् च समागताः ॥
पितामहम् उपासेदुः पर्वते गन्धमादने ॥
मध्ये तेषां समासीनः प्रजापतिर् अपश्यत ॥
विमानं जाज्वलद् भासा स्थितं प्रवरम् अम्बरे ॥
ध्यानेनावेद्य तं ब्रह्मा कृत्वा च नियतो ऽञ्जलिम् ॥
नमश्चकार हृष्टात्मा परमं परमेश्वरम् ॥
ऋषयस् त्व् अथ देवाश् च दृष्ट्वा ब्रह्माणम् उत्थितम् ॥
स्थिताः प्राञ्जलयः सर्वे पश्यन्तो महद् अद्भुतम् ॥
यथावच् च तम् अभ्यर्च्य ब्रह्मा ब्रह्मविदां वरः ॥
जगाद जगतः स्रष्टा परं परमधर्मवित् ॥

ṛṣayas tv atha devāś ca dṛṣṭvā brahmāṇam utthitam ||
sthitāḥ prāñjalayaḥ sarve paśyanto mahad adbhutam ||
yathāvac ca tam abhyarcya brahmā brahmavidāṃ varaḥ ||
jagāda jagataḥ sraṣṭā paraṃ paramadharmavit ||
Long ago, when all the gods and sages had gathered on Mount Gandhamadana and were honoring the Grandsire, Prajapati, seated among them, saw in the sky a supreme celestial chariot blazing with radiance. Having recognized the Supreme Lord through meditation, Brahma joined his palms in concentration and, his soul rejoicing, bowed to the supreme Parameshvara. When the sages and gods saw that Brahma had risen, they all stood with joined palms, beholding the great wonder. And having duly honored Him, Brahma — the foremost among the knowers of Brahman, the creator of the world and knower of the highest dharma — spoke.
