译文

"Look, O mighty-armed one, at this slaughter now upon us. The great and beautiful gold-adorned armors of the heroes are being torn apart by arrows with bent joints. The tips of banners are sheared off, along with javelins and bows; bright, sharp prasas, gold-gleaming shaktis, and the victory-banners of elephants are cut down by the enraged Kiritin. This is not the time to guard one's life for the sake of one's sons: go, setting heaven before you, for the sake of glory and victory. This one bearing the monkey banner crosses the river of battle by chariot — a most terrible river, hard to ford, with whirlpools of horses, elephants, and chariots. Right here is seen the piety, self-restraint, generosity, and great austerity of a king whose brother is Dhananjaya, whose brothers are the mighty Bhimasena and the two Pandava sons of Madri, and whose protector is Vasudeva of the Vrishnis. This wrath, born of the fury of the evil-minded son of Dhritarashtra, whose body seems scorched by austerity, burns the Bharatas. Here is seen Partha, relying upon Vasudeva: he tears through all the armies of the sons of Dhritarashtra entirely. This vast army is seen, shaken by Kiritin, like a river's mouth churned by a whale amid great waves. At the front of the army are heard cries of "ha-ha" and clamor. Go to the heir of Panchala, and I will go to Yudhishthira."
