"Drauni, best of brahmanas, in fury struck the impetuous Satyaki in the chest with a naracha, O scorcher of foes. But Shaineya, of boundless soul, struck his own teacher's son with nine heron-feathered arrows in all his vital points, O Bharata. Then Ashvatthaman swiftly struck Satyaki with nine arrows in battle, and again with thirty more, in the arms and chest. Sorely wounded by Drona's son, the illustrious Satvata, the great archer, struck Drauni with three arrows."
