Krishna said: 'That opulence of the Parthas which I beheld at Indraprastha during the rajasuya was hard indeed for other kings to attain. There came the rulers of Vanga, Anga, Paundra, Odra, Chola, Dravida, Andhaka, the dwellers of the sea-coasts and of cities, the Sinhalas, the barbarians, the mlecchas, the forest-dwelling tribes, the western kingdoms, the Pahlavas, the Daradas, the Kiratas, the Yavanas, the Shakas, the Haras, the Hunas, the Chinas, the Tukharas, the Saindhavas, the Jagudas, the Ramathas, the Mundas, the countries of women, the Tanganas, and many others -- all of them served at your sacrifice. That glory, which fickle enemies have stripped from you, I shall restore, taking their lives in payment. Together with Rama, Bhima, Arjuna, the twins, Akrura, Gada, Samba, Pradyumna, Ahuka, the hero Dhrishtadyumna, and the son of Shishupala, I shall slay in battle Duryodhana, Karna, Duhshasana, Saubaleya, and whoever else stands against us. Then you, dwelling in Hastinapura with your brothers, shall receive the wealth of Dhritarashtra's sons and rule this earth.'

Krishna does not merely console; he takes the side of wounded dharma. His promise restores Yudhishthira's horizon: the glory that was lost will be restored through righteous time and righteous strength.
