And then these two kings, Shalya and Duryodhana, embraced one another. And having thus greeted Shalya, Duryodhana returned to his city. And Shalya went to inform the sons of Kunti of this deed of his. And having reached Upaplavya and entered the camp, Shalya saw there all the sons of Pandu. And the mighty-armed Shalya, meeting the sons of Pandu, accepted, according to custom, both the water for washing the feet and the customary honorary gifts, including a cow. And the king of the Madras, that destroyer of enemies, first asked after their welfare, and then, with great joy, embraced Yudhishthira, Bhima, Arjuna, and the sons of his sister, the two twin brothers. And when all were seated, Shalya addressed Yudhishthira, son of Kunti, saying: "O tiger among kings, O you who delight the race of Kuru, is all well with you? O best of victors, how fortunate that you passed the time of your sojourn in the wilderness, O king. O lord of kings, you have accomplished an exceedingly difficult task, living in the wilderness together with your brothers and this noble lady."
