Translation

'Let the yogi constantly practice union, remaining in solitude, alone, with mind and self restrained, without expectations and without possessions. Having set up in a pure place a firm seat for himself, neither too high nor too low, covered with cloth, hide, and kusha grass, he should there make his mind one-pointed and, having restrained the activity of mind and senses, sit upon that seat and practice yoga for the purification of the self. Holding the body, head, and neck level and motionless, steady, with his gaze fixed on the tip of his nose and not looking about in any direction, at peace, free from fear, established in the vow of the brahmachari, with mind restrained and consciousness fixed on Me, let him remain in yoga, taking Me as the supreme goal. Thus always uniting himself, the yogi with a restrained mind attains the peace whose culmination is nirvana, abiding in Me. There is no yoga for one who eats too much, nor for one who does not eat at all; nor for one given to excessive sleep, nor for one who stays awake too much, O Arjuna. For one who is moderate in food and recreation, measured in actions, and regulated in sleep and waking, yoga becomes the destroyer of suffering.'
