द्रोणस्य मिषतः सो ऽहं सगणस्य विलप्यतः ॥
मूर्धानं सिन्धुराजस्य पातयिष्यामि भूतले ॥

Arjuna decrees not only the outcome but the very place of it: "droṇasya miṣataḥ… sagaṇasya vilapyataḥ" — Jayadratha's head will fall before the eyes of Drona himself, his protector, helplessly lamenting. It is telling that the avenger promises to accomplish his punishment precisely where the defense is arrayed: retribution will overtake the guilty man at the very heart of his protection. The verse teaches that an outcome appointed by destiny and duty cannot be averted by any shelter: the thicker the guard around the guilty, the more plainly, before all, will the powerlessness of his defenders be exposed in the hour of reckoning.
