ततो विद्यावयोवृद्धैः क्रियावद्भिर् जितेन्द्रियैः ॥
स्तूयमानो जयाशीभिर् आरुरोह महारथम् ॥
जैत्रैः सांग्रामिकैर् मन्त्रैः पूर्वम् एव रथोत्तमम् ॥
अभिमन्त्रितम् अर्चिष्मान् उदयं भास्करो यथा ॥
स रथे रथिनां श्रेष्ठः काञ्चने काञ्चनावृतः ॥
विबभौ विमलो ऽर्चिष्मान् मेराव् इव दिवाकरः ॥

tato vidyāvayovṛddhaiḥ kriyāvadbhir jitendriyaiḥ ||
stūyamāno jayāśībhir āruroha mahāratham ||
jaitraiḥ sāṃgrāmikair mantraiḥ pūrvam eva rathottamam ||
abhimantritam arciṣmān udayaṃ bhāskaro yathā ||
sa rathe rathināṃ śreṣṭhaḥ kāñcane kāñcanāvṛtaḥ ||
vibabhau vimalo 'rciṣmān merāv iva divākaraḥ ||

Translation

Then, extolled with blessings of victory by those aged in knowledge and years, active men who had conquered their senses, he mounted the great chariot, previously consecrated with victorious battle mantras — radiant, like the sun at its rising. He on the chariot, the foremost of charioteers, on the golden chariot, clad in gold, shone forth, spotless, radiant, like the sun upon Mount Meru.
