तम् अनुप्रयतो वायुः पुण्यगन्धवहः शुचिः ॥
ववौ संहर्षयन् पार्थं द्विषतश् चापि शोषयन् ॥
प्रादुरासन् निमित्तानि विजयाय बहूनि च ॥
पाण्डवानां त्वदीयानां विपरीतानि मारिष ॥

Translation
After him rushed the wind, bearing a holy fragrance, pure — it blew, gladdening Partha and parching the enemies. Many omens appeared foretelling victory for the Pandavas; for your own men, O venerable one, contrary ones.

Nature itself takes the side of righteousness: "vāyuḥ puṇyagandhavahaḥ… saṃharṣayan pārtham dviṣataḥ ca śoṣayan", the holy wind gladdens Partha and parches the enemies. Omens "vijayāya", of victory, attend the righteous, and "viparītāni", contrary ones, attend the unrighteous. It is telling that creation distinguishes the sides not by strength but by righteousness. The verse teaches that when a deed accords with dharma, creation itself lends it aid: the wind and the signs bear witness to the coming outcome even before the battle, for nature is attuned to whoever stands on the side of truth.
