किं नु सं संग्रामे वृत्तं दुर्योनं प्रति
रिदेवो हान् त्र श्रुतो मे नाभिन्दनम्
भूवुर् ये नोग्राह्याः ब्दाः श्रुतिसुखाहाः
श्रून्ते ऽद्य ते र्वे सैन्धस्य निवेने

kiṃ nu saṃjaya saṃgrāme vṛttaṃ duryodhanaṃ prati ||
paridevo man atra śruto me bhinandanam ||
babhūvur ye manogrāhyāḥ śabdāḥ śrutisukhāvahāḥ ||
na śrūyante 'dya te sarve saindhavasya niveśane ||

Translation

"What then, O Sanjaya, happened in the battle to Duryodhana? Great lamentation I hear here, not rejoicing. Those sounds that once were pleasing to the mind, delightful to the ear — none of them are heard now in the camp of the Sindhu king."
