किं नु संजय संग्रामे वृत्तं दुर्योधनं प्रति ॥
परिदेवो महान् अत्र श्रुतो मे नाभिनन्दनम् ॥
बभूवुर् ये मनोग्राह्याः शब्दाः श्रुतिसुखावहाः ॥
न श्रूयन्ते ऽद्य ते सर्वे सैन्धवस्य निवेशने ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

kiṃ nu saṃjaya saṃgrāme vṛttaṃ duryodhanaṃ prati ||
paridevo mahān atra śruto me nābhinandanam ||
babhūvur ye manogrāhyāḥ śabdāḥ śrutisukhāvahāḥ ||
na śrūyante 'dya te sarve saindhavasya niveśane ||

Translation

"What then, O Sanjaya, happened in the battle to Duryodhana? Great lamentation I hear here, not rejoicing. Those sounds that once were pleasing to the mind, delightful to the ear — none of them are heard now in the camp of the Sindhu king."
