तेषां मम विलापानां न हि दुर्योधनः स्मरेत् ॥
हतौ हि पुरुषव्याघ्रौ भीष्मद्रोणौ त्वम् आत्थ मे ॥
तेषां विदुरवाक्यानाम् उक्तानां दीर्घदर्शिनाम् ॥
दृष्ट्वेमां फलनिर्वृत्तिं मन्ये शोचन्ति पुत्रकाः ॥

teṣāṃ viduravākyānām uktānāṃ dīrghadarśinām ||
dṛṣṭvemāṃ phalanirvṛttiṃ manye śocanti putrakāḥ ||

Translation
"Duryodhana surely will not remember those laments of mine. For the two tigers among men, Bhishma and Drona, are slain — as you have told me. Seeing this fruit ripen from those far-sighted words of Vidura, I think my sons now grieve."

"Phalanirvṛttim", "the ripening of the fruit" — Dhritarashtra watches "viduravākyāni dīrghadarśinām", the far-sighted words of Vidura, come true: the retribution foretold for lawlessness has arrived. It is telling that the fruit of wrongdoing is known by the fall of its pillars — Bhishma and Drona. And the sons "śocanti", grieve, but too late. The verse teaches the law of karma: warnings of the wise, rejected in pride, come to pass as fruit; and those who rejected them then grieve over the ripened consequences, but grief over the fruit does not undo what was sown — its time was at the hour of sowing.
