युधिष्ठिर उवाच
मा राजन् विमना भूस् त्वं पाञ्चाल्य प्रीतिर् अस्तु ते ॥
ईप्सितस् ते ध्रुवः कामः संवृत्तो ऽयम् असंशयम् ॥
वयं हि क्षत्रिया राजन् पाण्डोः पुत्रा महात्मनः ॥
ज्येष्ठं मां विद्धि कौन्तेयं भीमसेनार्जुनाव् इमौ ॥
याभ्यां तव सुता राजन् निर्जिता राजसंसदि ॥
yudhiṣṭhira uvāca
mā rājan vimanā bhūs tvaṃ pāñcālya prītir astu te ||
īpsitas te dhruvaḥ kāmaḥ saṃvṛtto 'yam asaṃśayam ||
vayaṃ hi kṣatriyā rājan pāṇḍoḥ putrā mahātmanaḥ ||
jyeṣṭhaṃ māṃ viddhi kaunteyaṃ bhīmasenārjunāv imau ||
yābhyāṃ tava sutā rājan nirjitā rājasaṃsadi ||
Yudhishthira said: ‘Be not troubled, O king of Panchala, may joy be yours; the cherished desire you longed for has surely come to pass. For we are kshatriyas, O king, sons of the great Pandu; know me as the eldest, son of Kunti, and these are Bhimasena and Arjuna, by whom your daughter was won in the assembly of kings.’

Here the disclosure of the truth crowns the father's hope. It is significant that Yudhishthira's first word is ‘your longing has come to pass’: he hastens to bring joy before naming their lineage. Thus it is revealed how Providence had secretly led toward the fulfillment of an old friendship: what Drupada longed for came to be. Thus the text reveals a joyful resolution; and the hidden Pandavas at last declare themselves.
