Here the mother-in-law blesses her daughter-in-law with a mother's love. It is significant that Kunti values in Draupadi not beauty alone, but character and good conduct: outward form without virtue means little. Here the love of the elder meets the worth of the younger. Thus the scripture shows warm harmony within the family, and Kunti's blessing descends upon one who is worthy of it.
