अथ त्व् आज्ञापयाम् आस द्रौपद्या भूषणं बहु ॥
आनीयतां वै कृष्णेति पुत्रं दुर्योधनं तदा ॥
अथास्य पश्चाद् विदुर आचख्यौ पाण्डवान् वृतान् ॥
सर्वान् कुशलिनो वीरान् पूजितान् द्रुपदेन च ॥
तेषां संबन्धिनश् चान्यान् बहून् बलसमन्वितान् ॥
atha tv ājñāpayām āsa draupadyā bhūṣaṇaṃ bahu ||
ānīyatāṃ vai kṛṣṇeti putraṃ duryodhanaṃ tadā ||
athāsya paścād vidura ācakhyau pāṇḍavān vṛtān ||
sarvān kuśalino vīrān pūjitān drupadena ca ||
teṣāṃ saṃbandhinaś cānyān bahūn balasamanvitān ||
"And then he ordered many ornaments prepared for Draupadi: 'Let Krishna be brought here', thinking then of his son Duryodhana; then afterward Vidura told him that the Pandavas had been chosen, that all the heroes were well and honored by Drupada, and that they had many other mighty kinsmen."

Here the king's self-deception is dispelled by truth from Vidura's lips. It is telling that Dhritarashtra was already preparing honors for "his" daughter-in-law — but the truth proved otherwise. Here it is revealed that an imagined good, built on partiality, dissolves in the light of truth. Thus scripture reveals the collapse of self-deception; and Vidura, faithful to the truth, discloses to the king who has actually been chosen.
