स तथेति प्रतिज्ञाय कन्यां तां प्रतिगृह्य च ॥
उवास नगरे तस्मिन् कौन्तेयस् त्रिहिमाः समाः ॥

Here Arjuna enters marriage, honestly accepting the condition. It is significant that he agrees to the pact and stays: one true to his word fulfills the agreement rather than evading it. A union formed in accordance with dharma and one's word is firm and good. Thus scripture shows the lawful marriage with Chitrangada; and from it Babhruvahana, the continuer of Manipura's line, will be born.
