सप्तजिह्वः अनलः क्षामः लेलिहानः उपसर्पतिsaptajihvaḥ analaḥ kṣāmaḥ lelihānaḥ upasarpatithe seven-tongued fire, scorching, licking, creeps upon us";
एवम् उक्तः भ्रातृभिः तु जरितारिः विभावसुम्evam uktaḥ bhrātṛbhiḥ tu jaritāriḥ vibhāvasumthus questioned by his brothers, Jaritari praised Vibhavasu [Agni]

Here, before advancing death, the children turn to praise. It is significant that Jaritari "joins his palms" and praises the fire: in extremity the righteous do not cry out, but pray. Prayer and praise are the weapons of the defenseless. Thus scripture reveals the fledglings' turning to Agni -- and their praise will rise to the god.
